Vern Meyer is the chief investment officer for Hartford Funds. In this role, Vern manages the investment resources of the firm and is responsible for portfolio manager oversight and evaluation, as well as ongoing due diligence of assets invested in all Hartford Funds products. Vern also leads the proprietary multifactor, multi-asset, and trading teams, and he chairs the Investment Product Oversight committee. Vern is a portfolio manager for the Hartford Checks and Balances, Conservative Allocation, Moderate Allocation, and Growth Allocation Funds.

Prior to joining the organization in 2004, Vern worked for MassMutual for over 15 years where he developed and managed the multi-manager investment programs.

Vern graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Vern is a CFA® Charterholder and is a member of the CFA Society Philadelphia and the CFA Institute.
