Vernon Meyer

Chief Investment Officer


 

Vernon Meyer is the chief investment officer of Hartford Funds. In this role, Vernon manages the investment advisory group, a team of more than 30 investment professionals responsible for investment product innovation and integrity, including  portfolio manager oversight, evaluation, and selection, and ongoing due diligence of assets invested in all Hartford Funds products. Vernon also chairs the Investment Product Oversight committee and is a portfolio manager for the Hartford Checks and Balances, Conservative Allocation, Moderate Allocation, and Growth Allocation Funds.

Prior to joining the organization in 2004, Vernon worked for MassMutual for over 15 years where he developed and managed the multi-manager investment programs.

Vernon graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has also earned the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the Philadelphia CFA Society and the CFA Institute.

Vernon currently resides in Media, Pennsylvania with his wife, Rebekah, and their four children: Jonathan, Anna, Ian, and Audrey.
