Background

James Skakin, CFA, Senior Managing Director and Equity Portfolio Manager, is the portfolio manager for the Hartford International Value Fund. Jim is a portfolio manager in Global Equity Portfolio Management and leader of the firm’s International Contrarian Value Team. He manages equity assets on the behalf of Wellington Management's clients, drawing on research from Wellington Management’s global industry analysts, equity portfolio managers, and team analysts. He currently manages several non-US contrarian value approaches. Jim is a member of firm’s Multi-Strategy Review Group. He works in Wellington Management's Boston office.

Jim earned his BS in economics, with a concentration in finance, from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton, 1986). In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Boston Security Analysts Society.
