Background

Matthew G. Baker is a portfolio manager in Global Equity Portfolio Management on the Quality Equity team. He manages equity assets on behalf of our clients, drawing on research from Wellington Management’s global industry analysts, equity portfolio managers, and team analysts. He currently manages the Quality Value approach and provides research on the consumer, industrial, and material sectors for his team. He works in our Boston office.

Prior to joining Wellington Management in 2004, Matt worked as an equity analyst in the central research group at MFS Investment Management (2000 – 2004), leading the Global Capital Goods team. Before that, he worked as an investment specialist at Bank Boston (1995 – 1998).

Matt earned his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton, 2000) and his BS in finance from Northeastern University (1998).
